Our next event is on November the 20th. We started a little after 7:00 at the last Hope-N-Mic but hope to start on time this month !

Dirk Rinker hosted the evening.  My trip to Canada on the 10th resulted in me catching the ‘flu or a cold, pretty severe one at that, which I am only now getting over - now being October 31st.  Anyway, I am very grateful that Dirk hosted the evening, especially as I know how busy he is as a family man and business owner.

Dirk, despite being a very talented musician, decided to open the evening after the initial chorus - I Will Sing Of Your Love Forever - with a bit of standup comedy.  Of course, it being the political season, the comedy was political and quite funny.  Everyone that knows Dirk knows he has a very dry sense of humour and his presentation can best be described as ‘laid back’.

Attendance in October was around 40 with a number of new people participating, especially in the younger age group - late teens and early 20s.  It was great to see some of the younger folk as I think some of the older folk that did not show up were sleeping somewhere.

I am still getting the hang of this blog.  I should have saved the previous entry in the archives for October but now I guess I’ll have to rewrite it.  Still also trying to figure out how to embed the audio & photo gallery in the blog.
