We had a tremendous evening in Newhall, being entertained by a wide array of talent. Leslie and Dave played some great classical musical while the Bill James Band returned to surprise many newcomers with some very cool jazz. The Bill James Band has a CD for sale !
We welcomed a photographer from The Signal newspaper and had Ligaya, a singer songwriter represent us so well in a photo in the Saturday edition.
The Newhall evening concluded with a mystery man guitar virtuoso and his most excellent recital. This individual is very talented and has CDs for sale. You will have to come to one of the events to see and hear him.
The following Saturday we enjoyed some great music in Orange. RD came from Tustin and ended up playing almost all night, sitting in on lead and doing a phenomenal job.
Mission Kaizen closed out the evening with a great 30 minute set of rock.
I’ll be posting photos later… Thanks to all of you for coming. Hope to see you in March.
Rob MacLachlan and band Mission Kaizen will be coming to The Honest Lawyer in Orange this Saturday the 20th to rock the house with some great music !
You can get more information about the band and their music at the two web locations: http://www.myspace.com/missionkaizen1 and http://my.opera.com/robertmachlachlan/blog.
As usual, we will have an open mic for all performers who would like to present some music. Refreshments are free.
We had an excellent evening in Newhall last Thursday with such a good turnout we went to 11:00 p.m. instead of the scheduled 10:00 p.m.
Hope to see you all at The Honest Lawyer. If you need the address or directions, please just go to the “how to find us” page at The Honest Lawyer Online. If you would like to know more about the evening call Robert – that’d be me – at (661) 753-7862.
God Bless

It surely does. I have no idea where the time goes. One minute it is New Year’s eve 2010 and I’m in the process of getting married. Then, suddenly, it is 2 days before the second Thursday of February, January’s Hope-N-Mic events have come and gone and we are already preparing for February.
We had a fun crowd come to the January event and I apologize for not posting any photographs before now. Then of course there is also the music. I am so behind – like about 7 months – on mixing some of the recordings and posting them I am beginning to feel quite guilty – well okay, not really

I hope this wets your appetite to come and join us this week in Newhall (go here for directions) and next week in Orange ! Remember it’s from 7:00 until 10:00 p.m. with great refreshments.
We have some truly awesome musicians coming again this month so you will need to be there. Some are returnees, but there are a few new, as we have on most occasions. We have a great jazz trio coming to Newhall this month and a great Christian band coming to Orange County at The Honest Lawyer (go here for directions) on Saturday the 20th.
As always, refreshments are free.
We have our regular two open mic – open mike – events scheduled again this month. It is a little strange having them both in the same week considering the Newhall / Santa Clarita Valley area open mic is scheduled for the 2nd Saturday of the month and the Orange County event is scheduled for the 3rd Saturday !
The Newhall Church of the Nazarene event takes place this Thursday, 14th January beginning at 7:00 p.m. and running until 10:00 p.m.. For a map and directions check the NewNaz web site at http://www.newnaz.org/.
The Orange County event will take place this Saturday, 16th January beginning at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in The Honest Lawyer at 605 West Chapman in Old Towne Orange. A map and further information is available http://www.thehonestlawyeronline.com/.
We truly hope you will come and play, sing or simply enjoy the performances of others. We have a great time and believe that you will too.
